Prince of the Pines

Wild Turkey,  36" x 24" Oil on Canvas

Hunting traditions run deep in the South. From the opening day of dove to the last day of waterfowl, southern sportsmen and women enjoy a variety of seasons and species that thrive in pines and green fields of the southeast. But few of these annual traditions rival the pursuit of the wild turkey. In this original oil painting, the “Prince of the Pines” following his hens through the warmth of early morning light is a regal sight to behold. He proudly follows his leading ladies, step for step, across a lush food plot hidden among the tall pines as they forage through another southern spring.
